Parts of Allamuchy Mountain State Park are located in our township including the Highlands Trail and Overlook. The Highlands Trail and Overlook is a very short, but steep trail with some incredible views. The trail begins on one end at the Earthworm Parking Lot across the street from Waterloo Village, and one the other end links up with the Sussex Branch Trail. The Allamuchy Mountain State Park has many other trails available as well that branch off the Sussex Branch Trail, and it also extends over to Cranberry Lake where they have a public dock and boat launch.
